The 3rd Sydney Brewery Home Cooking Competition has launched and running for six weeks.

We have always enjoyed pairing our award winning craft beers and ciders with food and even more, using them as an ingredient in cooking.

With COVID-19 keeping us inside and cooking more, we’ve decided it’s the time to hold our Beer & Cider Home Cooking Competition.

It’s open to everyone to develop a recipe at home using one or more Sydney Brewery beers and/or ciders.

To enter is simple:

1. Cook your recipe using ANY Sydney Brewery product (beer and/or cider)

2. Snap an image featuring your dish before you eat it! (with chosen beverage included).

3. Send your recipe & picture to richard@sydneybrewery.com

Also great news that our Agave Ginger Cider won Best In Class Experimental with a Silver Medal and Sydney Cider also won a Silver Medal. And a credible Bronze Medal for our Manly Perry!

Sydney Brewery has collaborated with music producer Hylander to showcase how our senses are interlinked, such as drinking beer, listening to music & eating delicious food!

It is proven that different notes & frequencies you hear can make beer and food taste sweeter and other notes bitter (sounds activating different parts of your palate).

To showcase this to you, we have created a unique ‘Sensory Beer Dinner’ experience. A four course degustation will be provided at Sydney Brewery Surry Hills with matching beers & ciders.

This will then be accompanied by four soundscapes developed by Hylander to bring out different flavours in both the food and drink for a truly unique and incredible evening. Plus a live performance by Hylander.

Indie Beer Day is about celebrating the craft beer community we love and support. At 2pm AEST we will raise our glasses across Australia to the health of independent brews. To help you celebrate we are holding an Indie Beer Day Party at Sydney Brewery Surry Hills including brewery tours & tastings from 12pm-3pm & a $20 burger & gold medal tasting paddle!

Saturday November 2nd we are throwing a ‘Boo-ery’ Party at Sydney Brewery Surry Hills. We will have a DJ until close and 20% off food & drinks if you’re in full costume!
